What’s new for 2023
For 2023, Ford has added a Rattler trim to the F-150 lineup to satisfy the off-road needs of buyers in places like Lake Havasu and Bullhead City AZ. The Rattler is based on the XL FX4 model and gives you 18-inch wheels, hill descent control, a dual-exhaust system, a locking rear differential and an off-road suspension system. The Rattler is positioned in the F-150 lineup in a way that makes it a more affordable option for off-road fans.
Engines and performance
Take your pick from a variety of engines including a 3.3-liter V6 with 290 horsepower, a 5.0-liter V8 with 400 horsepower, a 2.7-liter twin-turbocharged V6 with 325 horsepower, a 3.5-liter V6 with 400 horsepower and a torque-rich 3.0 liter diesel V6 with 250 horsepower. The F-150 is offering a hybrid powertrain for the first time consisting of a 3.5-liter twin turbo V6 and an electric motor to produce 400 horsepower. One version of the Lariat trim rolled to a zero-to 60-mph sprint of just 5.4 seconds.
Towing and payload
The big twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 generates 400 horsepower and can tow as much as 14,000 pounds. That number gives the Ford F-150 the best towing capability in its class.
