Ford Lincoln New Vehicle Warranty
Understanding what your warranty covers is extremely important for new vehicle owners. It will let you know what the warranty will take care of in case something breaks or if they help cover costs when there is an accident. Ford has a great new vehicle warranty that covers a good portion of costs, repairs, replacements and adjustments to your vehicle. The major part is that these coverages are only valid if your vehicle has been properly operated and maintained and was taken to an authorized dealership for warranted repair during the limited warranty period. Though there is extended warranty coverage periods for certain parts and conditions.
The Ford New Vehicle Limited Warranty only covers manufacturing defects that resulted in part malfunctions or failures during the warranty timeframe. And any repairs on your vehicle will be done with Ford or Motorcraft parts or possibly remanufactured/other parts that are Ford authorized. But then tires on your new vehicle have two separate warranties—the Ford New Vehicle Limited Warranty and the tire manufacturer's tire warranty, the tire manufacture's coverage will be with the vehicle's literature. But the New Vehicle Limited Warranty, during the timeframe, will be handled on a pro rata bases based on a mileage-based schedule.

Then there are some instances where the warranty does not cover repairs or replacements on the vehicle. Such as damage that is caused by alterations, tampering or modifications to the vehicle that happens after it is no longer controlled by the Ford Motor Company. It also won't cover damages that happens with any non-Ford parts or software installations. And the warranty does not cover damage caused by:
- Accidents, collisions, or objects striking
- Theft, vandalism, or riot
- Fire or explosion
- Contaminated or improper fuel/fluids
- Chemicals or accidental spills
- Water ingested into the engine
- Misuse of vehicle (I.e. racing, overloading, driving over curbs...)
