2019 Edge ST
The Ford Edge ST is the first performance-enhanced SUV to join the lineup of Ford vehicles. The addition of a performance SUV was inevitable given the popularity of other Ford ST models, and thankfully we won't have to wait too much longer to enjoy the 2019 Edge ST. In addition to having its performance enhanced, the 2019 Edge ST will also be one of the smartest SUVs on the market thanks to a host of standard driver-assist technologies as well as new available technologies designed to keep you and your family safe.
Powering the Ford Edge ST is a specially-tuned 2.7L twin-turbocharged EcoBoost® V6 engine that allows the Edge ST to provide the most power in is class. This capable engine is able to crank out up to 335 horsepower, and an astounding 380 lb-ft of torque! Paired with this powerful engine is a quick-shifting 8-speed automatic transmission, as well as standard all-wheel drive with traction control. The Edge ST will also feature a new Sport Mode that will allow drivers to experience a more aggressive throttle response, sharper engine braking, a more resonant exhaust tone, and more.
2019 Edge Technology
In addition to being one of the more powerful SUVs on the road, the 2019 Edge will also be one of the smartest. Take the available Adaptive Cruise Control system for example. Sensors located at the front of the Edge will be able to monitor the distance between you and the vehicle in front of you. When the distance begins to shrink, the system will automatically begin to slow down your engine speed in order to keep you and your family at a safe distance away from the car ahead of you. Once traffic begins to speed back up, you'll seamlessly return to your set cruising speed.
Also available on the 2019 Edge is an Evasive Steering Assist feature. This has been designed to help you steer around vehicles that are driving slowly, or that are at a complete stop. It has been designed to function at both city and highway speeds, and uses radar to detect when there are slower vehicles in front of you. If the system senses that a collision is imminent, it will help guide your 2019 Edge safely out of harm's way. Just be sure to check the area around your 2019 Edge before steering into a different lane. You wouldn't want to cause an accident while you're attempting to avoid a different one.
