2018 Super Duty Durability
Whether you choose the F-250. F-350, or the F-450, you're sure to notice just how dependable and durable your truck really is. Each Ford Super Duty model has gone through rigorous testing to ensure that every component is able to stand the test of time, as well as stand up to the demanding work pressures you need it to handle. With a body made out of light-weight military-grade aluminum, the 2018 Super Duty trucks have been able to shed pounds, and add strength to the body, the frame, and the overall output.
Coming Standard on each Super Duty truck is AdvanceTrac®, RSC® and Trailer Sway Control technologies. AdvanceTrac and Roll Stability Control, RSC, both utilize gyroscopic sensors that are able to detect when your truck needs an added boost in stability. The systems will automatically reduce the engine power and apply pressure to the appropriate brakes in order to keep your truck under control at all times. The Trailer Sway Control uses many of the same sensors and technologies when you're towing your trailer. This allows you to keep both your truck and trailer under perfect control no matter what the road conditions are.
2018 Super Duty Capability
The 2018 Super Duty line of trucks have everything you could ever ask for when it comes to towing and hauling capabilities. When properly equipped, the Super Duty trucks are able to provide a maximum towing capacity of up to 21,000 pounds. That's more than any other Super Duty truck that's come before, and more than any other heavy-duty pickup truck on the road now. The Super Duty trucks also provide the best 5th-wheel and goose-neck tow ratings with 27,500 pounds and 34,000 pounds respectably.
In order to tow all that weight, you're going to need an engine capable of cranking out some serious torque and horsepower. That's where the available 6.7L Power Stroke® Turbo Diesel comes in. This B20-capable engine delivers a best-in-class 450 horsepower and an incredible 935 lb.-ft. of torque. The 6.7L Power Stoke features an inboard configuration which allows for a single turbocharger to be mounted closer to the exhaust manifold which gives you more power and faster air displacement. In order to help you stop such a powerful engine, the 6.7L Power Stroke comes with a smart exhaust brake function that restricts exhaust flow to create back pressure which slows down the vehicle.
