2018 Explorer Engine Options
Thanks to its three engine options, the 2018 Ford Explorer is capable of perfectly combining performance and efficiency no matter which engine you choose. The first option is the powerful 2.3L EcoBoost® Engine that is capable of cranking out up to 280 horsepower and a staggering 310 lb-ft of torque. This engine is compatible with four-wheel drive and a Class II Trailer Tow Package. Next, we have the 3.5L Ti-VCT V6 Engine. This engine gives the 2018 Explorer a little extra horsepower with up to 290, and up to 255 lb-ft of torque. This engine maximizes performance through the entire low, mid, and high ranges to match the driving conditions.
Our final engine choice on the 2018 Explorer is a 3.5L Ecoboost® Engine. This beast of an engine is capable of producing an eye-popping 365 horsepower and up to 350 lb-ft of torque. You better remember to hold on to the steering wheel, because as soon as you press the gas pedal, your 2018 Explorer will be ready to take you on the ride of a lifetime. This engine is standard in Explorer Sport and Platinum models, and comes with standard Intelligent 4WD with Terrain Management System and Hill Descent Control. Thanks to these features, your 2018 Explorer will be working every bit as hard as you do.
2018 Explorer Technology
If you thought the 2018 Explorer was all brawn and no brain, guess again. Thanks to the available Ford Safe & Smart® Package, you'll be treated to all of the latest in automotive technology. Features in this package do everything from alerting you when you unintentionally drift out of your lane, warn you about potential collisions, and much more! The rain-sensing wipers are able to automatically sense when it's raining outside and will turn themselves on to keep your vision of the road crystal clear. This package also features adaptive cruise control that allows you to choose a distance you would like to stay behind the car in front of you while cruising.
The 2018 Explorer also features an available Enhanced Active Park Assist feature. This feature is making parking easier than ever before. If you've never been a fan of trying to find a parking spot, or having to parallel park, this feature will be a god-send. Thanks to 12 ultrasonic sensors, the Explorer will be able to scan for a suitable parking space. When it finds a spot in which it will fit, the Explorer will then park itself. That's right, your Explorer will be able to park on its own! All you'll need to do is take care of the shifting, acceleration, and brakes.
