2018 Ford C-Max Technology
In order to help make driving safe and more convenient, the engineers and designers at Ford have loaded the 2018 C-Max full with some amazing technological advancements. Starting up front, the 2018 C-Max has a SmartGauge® with EcoGuide that offers a customizable LCD display providing you with important information about your vehicle. One of the displays can even show you how much changing some of your driving habits positively impacts the performance of your C-Max. Another feature close to the driver's seat is Push-Button Start. By leaving the key fob in your pocket, you'll be able start your C-Max by simply pressing the ignition button when your foot is on the brake pedal. You can also unlock your C-Max while keeping the key fob in your pocket. Simply touch the door handle and you'll be granted access.
Coming standard on the 2018 C-Max is a rear-view camera. As soon as you shift into reverse, your C-Max will provide you with a detailed image of what's behind your vehicle in real-time. This feature is perfect if you've got youngsters at home who occasionally leave toys on the driveway, or for backing into parking stalls. If parking isn't really your favorite thing, the 2018 C-Max has just the upgrade for you. Available on C-Max models is an Active Park Assist system. While you drive slowly near any parallel parking spots, all you need to do is activate the system, and your vehicle will scan for a parking spot all by itself. Once an appropriate spot is found, your C-Max will park itself while you control the shifting, accelerator, and brake.
2018 C-Max Performance and Efficiency
Boasting best-in-class horsepower, the 2018 C-Max is sure to provide an exhilarating drive every time you get behind the wheel. Those who choose the 2018 C-Max hybrid, for example, cranks out up to 188 combined horsepower while in all-electric mode and is capable of a top speed around 85 miles per hour. The C-Max hybrid models are powered by a 2.0L Atkinson-cycle I-4 as well as a powerful lithium-ion battery. When you press the brake pedal of your C-Max Hybrid, regenerative braking technology is capable of recovering the energy that is usually lost while braking, and uses it to recharge your battery. The 2018 C-Max is also able to coach you on some helpful braking strategies to get the most out of your regenerative braking system.
In order to help your vehicle run more efficiently, shift into EcoSelect by pressing the EcoSelect button located on the center console. While in EcoSelect mode, you'll notice less aggressive heating and cooling, softer acceleration, slight changes in the behavior of the engine, and EcoCruise activation. All these changes enable your C-Max to make the most out of every drop of gas. In fact, you may just forget what gas stations look like before it's time to fill up again.
